Are you just giddy with excitement to finally get – and KEEP – your home clean and organized in 2016? Well, I am too. And I can’t wait to go on the journey with you!
Every day for the next year, a cleaning assignment will be posted for you to accomplish sometime…anytime during the day.
Just in case some of you newbies (welcome!) have questions about how this will work, I’ve outlined a short Q&A to help.
How long should it take me to complete each Spring Cleaning task?
Most assignments should take around 5 minutes to complete but every once in a while there will be a chore that could take up to fifteen minutes to finish. The point of “Spring Cleaning” every day is to spend a little time now so we don’t have to spend a lot of time later.
Another way to keep your home in order is to implement cleaning habits into your daily routine. On the first day of every month there will be an assignment. However, this assignment will be different than the rest. Instead of completing the task and marking it off your to-do list, you’ll want to incorporate the chore into your daily life. If you implement these 12 habits – and nothing else – your home will automatically be in better shape at the end of the year.
Are there rewards?
Well, I’m glad you asked. Your reward is a clean and organized home 🙂
Oh, that’s not what you meant?! Ok. Well, yes, there will be a few rewards along the way too!
Our sponsors (and I) will be offering you some sweet prizes along the way so make sure to subscribe, join the Spring Cleaning 365 accountability group, like on Facebook, follow on Pinterest, G+ and Twitter to stay in the know.
Is there accountability?
There will be daily check-in opportunities in the accountability group.
At the end of each day, I’ll ask you a simple questions to see if you completed the daily task. If you have, leave a quick comment. You can also leave a comment on Pinterest, Facebook, the blog post, or even send me a tweet. Every once in a while I’ll just randomly pick someone to be rewarded. So the more interaction, the better!
What if I miss a day?
Let’s face it; there’s more to life than cleaning. That means it’s highly likely that you’re going to miss a day…or two…or three. Your kids may need extra attention one day. A friend might need a shoulder to cry on. You could get sick. You just might decide to take a vacation. That’s part of life so make sure you’re living it!
But I firmly believe that we are happier, more organized and more social individuals when there is some semblance of order in our homes. If you miss a day (or month for that matter) jump back in anytime. You can make up missed cleaning tasks or just start back with today’s assignment.
What if daily tasks don’t work for me? Can I complete them weekly?
Of course you can! Clean the way it works best for you. Just be aware that cleaning seven things will take longer than 5 minutes!
What if the daily task doesn’t apply to me?
You’re off the hook! Take the day off…or catch up on previous cleaning tasks you haven’t accomplished yet.
